Ready to grow mentally and physically strong while preparing for a triathalon, marathon or other athletic event?
We help others achieve their goals and dreams that seem unattainable or impossible. New moms, 40 hour jobs, kids who have their own sports to be at, physical and mental handicaps, and non-supportive friends and family can all be challenges that hold us back. Tri Training will help you overcome the obstacles you deal with on a daily basis and conquer those athletic ambitions you are striving for.
Angela Smith achieved Ironman’s “All World Athlete” status in 2014 and 2016 for being in the top 5% of her age group that year. These events have taught her the importance of nutrition and how to take care of her body in an effort to mitigate injuries.
Angie grew up in Southeast Oregon participating in swimming and softball as a youth. Later she started cycling, hiking and running as a form of exercise through college. Her mission was to help others and she used her Counseling degree to accomplish this until the birth of her second child. In a quest to regain her physical fitness, she attended group strength training classes and competed in triathlons.
Her love for exercise grew stronger as she used it as her outlet for personal quality time, keeping herself grounded so she could truly be the wife and mother she wanted to be. This led her down the path of health and fitness as a career. She became a fitness instructor and personal trainer. Her passion for coaching and helping people achieve their fitness goals has grown stronger as she has seen firsthand what achieving her own desires has done for herself mentally, physically, and spiritually.
Over fourteen years of continuous training Angie has competed in numerous sprint and Olympic distance triathlons along with a many half marathon and shorter distance races which have been used to increase her endurance level, enabling her to participate in nine marathons, nine half distance Ironman and 10 full Ironman triathlons along with a Leadman 250k triathlon and the Seattle to Portland double century bicycle ride. She achieved Ironman’s “All World Athlete” status in 2014 and 2016 for being in the top 5% of her age group that year.
These events have taught her the importance of nutrition and how to take care of her body in an effort to mitigate injuries. She is now using her experience to help others achieve their personal fitness milestones. Angie is a certified personal trainer working for SamFit and has spent countless hours training the “weekend warrior” and endurance athlete. She has also taught Better Bones and Balance for over 10 years, helping others with fall prevention and maintaining strong bones.
The first step is building a clear path to success. After a detailed intake and interview we will create a fool proof path for you to meet and achieve your goals.
I am a working mom with two kids. I know that family is the most important thing and I will show you how you can have a life and training balance.
There is more to endurance than just cardio. I can teach you what stretches and exercises you need and what to avoid.
The biggest mistake most triathlons athlete make is not getting their nutrition right. Let talk about food mmm....
Open water swimming, fast downhills on your bike, crowed bull pin starts, these are all things that can be scary. We want your triathlon to be a fun and positive experience.
If you are confused about what gear you need, let me tell you what is a must and what is a bust. After 10 Ironman I have tried them all.
